I COME FROM

A FAMILY OF DREAMERS.

My parents were always chasing something. Which meant

my brothers and I were always moving. Eleven times. We traipsed up and down the east coast in a ‘77 Ford Country Squire station wagon. The one with wood paneling and a collapsible seat way in back. That’s where I sat. Being a curious kid. Writing, drawing, and dreaming. In those miles, my imagination soared.

I eventually gave up my seat in the station wagon and started chasing my own dreams. Like New York’s School of Visual Arts. It’s there that my creativity was ignited. Then it was on to Ogilvy. My first job. Where the dreamer in me knew no bounds for over 20 years.

To stay at one shop for as long as I did is rare, sure. But it was exciting. I learned from the best in the business. People who taught me the importance of craft and culture. That what we do is a team sport. That hard work and humility are as important as smarts. And that ideas always rule. As I began leading teams, I did so from the trenches, pushing for integration. I was one of the first to join Ogilvy Interactive. The Internet. What a ride.

Straddling both the traditional and digital worlds, my creativity exploded. Ideas flowed. As a result, I gained a reputation as a problem solver, touching just about every brand in the agency — from IBM, American Express, UPS, The UPS Store, Caterpillar, and Comcast Business to Thomson Reuters, Cisco, BP, SAP, Kaplan University,

Capri Sun, and Siemens.

Over the years, I’ve helped build and run big brands and small brands. With my partner and our teams, I've created TV spots that have been lauded. And web content that has gone viral. Blinky banners. And websites. Social posts. And podcasts. I even put a forty-ton ice hashtag in Union Square Park on Earth Day just to see it melt. I’ve made work that makes waves. Solves problems. And wins.

These days I can be found using all I’ve learned at Ogilvy to help other brands untangle a few knots. I enjoy working with people to tackle the big, hairy stuff — those seemingly unsolvable problems. There’s no better feeling. Especially when it wins hearts, minds, and metal.

When I'm not doing the work I love, I’m with the people I love — my wife and our twins. Gotta say, my family is the best award I've ever received. And there have been many. Cannes, The One Show, Effies, Webbie, Tellies, ADDYs, ANDYs, Caples, and Jay Chiat, as well as being featured in Adweek, Creativity, and other pubs. So far, it’s all been a dream come true. All worth chasing. But I’m not done dreaming yet.

So let’s get after it.
